| Description: |
The Life Sciences Strategy Capstone project course with an emphasis in life science/biotechnology examines the economic, business, and financial forces driving the biotechnology industry, especially those faced by start-up and growing companies. Students may be asked to critically analyze a complex problem, identify and evaluate potential risks and rewards (both financial and non-financial) of specific courses of action, and propose a well-reasoned strategic and tactical plan of approach. As part of this course, students may develop a broad understanding of the biotech industry, including its competitive and regulatory landscape, the planning challenges it faces in an uncertain future, the financial and economic issues driving long-term cost-benefit analysis as well as day-to-day business decisions, and the unique roles that marketing/sales and research and development play in biotech firms. The Executive Master of Business Administration program is designed for working professionals who seek to develop their skills and gain the advantage resulting from a high-quality MBA program. Some of the objectives of the program are to develop management skills for leaders in business, government, and non-profit organizations, enhance critical thinking skills, create effective decision-making and enhance global awareness to effectively compete in the global marketplace. |
