The Associate of Science Degree with a major in Criminal Justice/Homeland Security provides students with a solid foundation in traditional criminal justice topics, such as criminal law, investigation, and the American Court System, in addition to exposing them to the most current and interesting issues and trends in the field.These include, but are not limited to: Homeland security and terrorism, computer-based crime, and multicultural law enforcement. Additional courses will teach students appropriate human relations skills, necessary to the industry, and an under-standing of the criminal psyche as it relates to the causes and prevention of crime. This program is designed to provide an education that is practical and relevant to the existing and emerging careers in criminal justice, in order to provide students with a competitive edge, whether they choose to continue their education, enter into the field of criminal justice for the first time, or advance their current positions. |
