The Accounting Systems Administration program provides students with the essential theory and hands-on knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level employment in the field of accounting administration. As organizations continue to computerize their financial records, many accounting administration professionals are using specialized computer accounting software. This has enabled role expansion in areas such as: Payroll, Human Resources, Receivables, Inventory Control, Purchasing and Billing. Students learn accounting procedures in both manual and computerized settings. They operate in the Windows environment and process information using: Accounting Software Applications including Spreadsheets and Word Processing Software Applications. The program focuses on: Transaction Analysis, Journals and Ledgers, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Payroll Processing and Bank Reconciliation, Quickbooks Accounting Program and Excel Spreadsheet for Accounting, Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis. Associate Degree graduates may sit for the Advanced Bookkeeper exam |
